Federal Budget Cookies

This one goes out to the "fund the schools and let the Army have a bake sale" crowd. I'm not so sure I'm not one of them these days.

Schools are traditionally a local/state, not a federal funding issue. As well, I think that if you look over the past 50+ years, you will find that school funding, in real dollars, has gone up significantly. I think you will also find that there is either no or negative correlation between funding and quality of education in the broad picture.
